Fluorescent Light Bulb Recycling

As part of a comprehensive Mercury Minimization Plan (MMP), the City of Clinton also offers fluorescent light bulb recycling (PDF) to its citizens. Because compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and fluorescent tube lights contain mercury, if they are broken or disposed of improperly, they can introduce mercury into the environment. The City of Clinton's MMP is an effort to reduce the amount of mercury that enters our surface waters, causing fish and other aquatic food sources to be unsafe to eat.

Cardboard Recycling

The City of Clinton also offers cardboard recycling to local businesses. Businesses may rent a dumpster for a $30 monthly rental fee for the use of cardboard. The City of Clinton empties the cardboard dumpsters weekly on either Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.
