2021 Police Officer of the Year

2021 Christian Simmons

Officer of the Year

2021 Officer of the Year – Corporal Christian Simmons

The Clinton Police Department is very excited to introduce Corporal Christian Simmons as our 2021 Officer of the Year. Officers are first nominated by fellow members of the agency, who give details of the employee’s body of work and their conduct for the entire year. It is a prestigious award within the Department because the nominations come from the officer's peers. These nominations are then reviewed by a selection board which includes former recipients of the award. Each member of the board takes the selection seriously as the person’s conduct must truly represent the core values that we all share: Integrity, Professionalism, Respect, and Teamwork.

This year we had a great selection of officers nominated for this honor and being chosen above so many deserving employees is impressive. Corporal Simmons started his law enforcement career at the Clinton Police Department in 2019. Since joining our team, he has adapted to service within the Clinton Police Department. He works diligently and goes above and beyond his regular duties and demonstrates the values we treasure.

This past year presented a great number of unique challenges and Cpl. Simmons demonstrated his desire to support the mission and objectives of the Clinton Police Department on and off duty on an almost daily basis. We believe Cpl. Simmons is and will continue to be an asset to the department and is more than deserving of this award. The Clinton Police Department is honored to present the 2021 Officer of the Year.
